NHL Buzz: Friday, July 2

Here is the latest, heading into day two of free agency.

When I asked Miroslav Satan's agent Allan Walsh about the rumors that they were in talks with the Blues, he replied "no truth."

I have been told that the Flames are not done making moves, so expect something big.

The Kings, Devils, and, surprisingly, the Leafs are in on Ilya Kovalchuk. However, the Leafs and Devils are not willing to pay eight million a year for him.

The Kings are interested in acquiring a defenseman, as they missed out on the big five yesterday. Tomas Kaberle and Sheldon Souray come to mind.

I am hearing the Ducks and Sabres are very interested in big D Andy Sutton.

As of right now, it looks like Kevin Bieksa is the odd man out of Vancouver. A lot of teams are interested but Columbus seems to be the leader.

Temmu Selanne is leaning towards not retiring, especially now that they re-signed his good friend Saku Koivu and signed one of his best friends in Toni Lydman.
