The Chicago Blackhawks (37-18-5) were bigger underdogs the last time they visited Madison Square Garden to play the New York Rangers (32-18-6) less than a year ago heading into Wednesday’s rematch.
The Blackhawks won that game 1-0 as 13-10 dogs and then lost the first meeting this season 3-2 to the Rangers as small home favorites on opening night when they raised their Stanley Cup banner. Chicago is a slight 11-10 betting underdog for Wednesday night at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
Both teams are coming off wins in their last games and chasing teams in their respective divisions that are among the favorites to win the Cup this year. Chicago is the 5-1 second choice on the odds to win the Stanley Cup behind the Washington Capitals (4-1), whom the Rangers (18-1) are trying to catch atop the Metropolitan Division.
The Capitals tied the best record in NHL history through 55 games and will have to choke down the stretch to give up their lead.
