News On Marc Staal, Alexander Frolov, and More: Rangers Rumor Round-Up

I'm just getting back from vacation, so I thought a small rumor blog would be nice. Tomorrow, I will start with my "Preview" series.

First, some good news on the Marc Staal front. Staal's agent announced through email that Staal would still like to remain a New York Ranger. And while there is still the possibility of him getting that offer sheet he wants, he hopes the Rangers would be able to match it.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind the Rangers re-signing him. I just think they can do without him.

Next, according to sportbox.ru, Alexander Frolov will be wearing No. 31 for the Rangers next season. Not exactly big news, but still some news to report.

According to Todd Cordell of NHLBuzz, the Rangers do have interest in signing center Kyle Wellwood, if he is talking the right price. He would be a good addition to the team, and could take the No. one spot for center.

Yes, he only scored 14 goals last season. But Wellwood does have talent, and given the right wing-men (Gaborik and Frolov), he may be able to put up some pretty good numbers.
