New York Rangers vs. Boston Bruins Game 5: Live Score, Updates and Analysis

May 25th, 2013 by Franklin Steele Leave a reply »
The third period of Game 5 between the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers is over and the B's have closed out the Blueshirts, taking this series 4-1. Boston now has a date with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Boston grabbed a one-goal lead by scoring two unanswered goals in the second period. Torey Krug pulled the B's even with a power-play goal early, and Gregory Campbell buried a rebound after the Rangers failed to clear the zone on two separate occasions to take the lead.

The fourth lines were the difference-makers in this game. Campbell finished the Rangers off with an empty netter and scored the game-winning second goal while Derek Dorsett took three penalties for New York.

Henrik Lundqvist was ridiculous once again, but the Rangers just couldn't find the offense to push the Bruins to Game 6.

Boston Bruins 3, New York Rangers 1 (FINAL)
