New York Rangers: This Season Could Be Glen Sather, John Tortorella’s Last in NY

Glen Sather has been general manager of the Rangers for ten years now, making the playoffs only four times. Over the years he’s spent in New York he has made terrible moves such as trading Brian Leetch and Adam Graves, deciding not to resign players like Mark Messier and Jarmoir Jagr, to instead sign players like Bobby Holik, Pavel Bure, Wade Redden, Michael Rozsival, Chris Drury, and Scott Gomez to bogus contracts. But he has also made a few good moves as GM like trading for Jagr, signing Marian Gaborik, and drafting very good young players such as Michael Del Zotto, Marc Staal, Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan, Chris Kreider, etc.

But Glen Sather is still disliked by every New York Ranger fan, even with some of the good things he has done.

In March of 2010 Ranger fans showed their discomfort with Glen Sather being general manager, by holding a huge riot in front of Madison Square Garden. But to no avail, James Dolan has kept Glen Sather as general manager and president of the New York Rangers.
