Here are some of the latest rumors regarding the New York Rangers.

 

Matt Gilroy Is Being Shopped

According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, the New York Rangers are currently shopping sophomore defenseman Matt Gilroy. He states that they are looking to rid of some defensemen and may try to trade for more forward depth.

I have asked multiple reliable sources, including NHLBuzz's Todd Cordell, whether or not these rumors are true, and the responses have been "Yes". No information has been given regarding whom the Rangers may be talking to or who the Rangers may target in a trade.

 

Brad Richards

Multiple sources, including Bruce Garrioch, Steve Zipay and Larry Brooks, have reported that Glen Sather (the Rangers general manager) is paying close attention to the Brad Richards situation in Dallas. Once Richards hits the market, Sather will make an offer.
