New York Rangers: Latest on Marc Staal, Ruslan Fedotenko and Much More

This week has been a huge one for the New York Rangers, as rumors begin to surface on what Glen Sather may do next.

The week started off with the rumor of the Sharks offering Devin Setoguchi and a top prospect (or draft pick) for Marc Staal.

Whether or not the proposal is true, the Rangers are (or at least were) in trade talks with the Sharks, Flames, Senators, and, Bruins regarding Marc Stall.

Obviously, the Rangers have not traded Marc Staal and probably will not do so unless contract talks take another turn for the worse.

After the Staal trade rumors came, the rumors regarding Ruslan Fedotenko and a try-out contract.

It is believed the Rangers have given a try-out offer to Fedotenko, but he has yet to accept it.

The Rangers may also be in negotiations with rough blue-liner Garnet Exelby. Glen Sather may think about giving him a tryout contract, too. I wouldn’t mind seeing Exelby on the Rangers' defense.
