For those who do not already know, the NHL will be re-opening the waiver wire today.

So what does this mean for the Rangers?

In the summer of 2008, the New York Rangers signed defenseman Wade Redden to a ludicrous six-year deal for $6.5 million.

Since that signing, Rangers fans have been longing for general manager Glen Sather to dump the contract and send Redden to the AHL. The big question this whole summer has been whether or not the Rangers will actually waive Wade Redden. With the waiver wire re-opening today, the Rangers will have a big decision to make...
