New York Rangers’ Brandon Prust Getting Some Recognition

It still amazes me that Brandon Prust turned out to be a bigger contributor to the Rangers over Olli Jokinen, who came over in the same mid-season trade. Even though it was simply a salary dump to get rid of Ales Kotalik, the Rangers have gotten themselves a piece that is expected to contribute to the team’s future.

Fox Sports is recognizing Prust as one of the biggest “Tough Guys” this past season. Although we know he was more than that. Here is what Fox had to say:

"It didn’t matter what sweater Brandon Prust was wearing during the regular season, he always played the game the same way—hard. The former Calgary winger took part in 25 fights during the year—18 for the Flames and seven for the Rangers—going 10-7-8 in those clashes."

Prust also was recognized by the website HockeyFights.com , who had a pair of fights listed among the best fights of the 2009-10 season. Here are the videos:
