New York Islanders Reporter Blanks on Player’s Name During Interview

December 30th, 2014 by Kyle Newport Leave a reply »

On the list of things a reporter needs to know for an interview, the player's name ranks near the top.

During Monday night's game versus the Washington Capitals, MSG Network's Shannon Hogan pulled New York Islanders center Anders Lee aside for an interview after the first period. Hogan ran into a bit of a problem, however, when the cameras came to her and she couldn't remember who she was interviewing.

Hogan did what needed to be done and just asked Lee for his name. It was an embarrassing moment, but she was at least able to play it off smoothly.

She was just thankful that Lee didn't get mad.

To make this story even better, Hogan apparently has been covering Lee for quite some time.

Maybe the next time Hogan interviews Lee he'll mess with her by wearing a name tag.
