Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins Game 2: Live Score and Highlights

May 2nd, 2014 by Isaac Smith Leave a reply »
The Boston Bruins defeated the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2 of their conference semifinal series using a three goals in under six minutes in the third period to rally from two goals down and hand the Montreal Canadiens their first loss of the 2014 playoffs.

Daniel Paille got the Bruins their first lead of the series, beating Carey Price over the blocker in the first period to make it 1-0 for Boston, but Mike Weaver answered with a slap shot in the second period after a mad scramble in front of the Boston goal.

Thomas Vanek gave the Habs a 2-1 lead and what looked to be an insurance marker on a pair of power-play goals later in the second and early in the third period.

But that set the stage for the Bruins' comeback.

Looking dead in the water, the Bruins drew to within one on a goal by Dougie Hamilton and that got the crowd back into the game. Patrice Bergeron scored and then Reilly Smith scored to give the Bruins the lead.

Milan Lucic added an empty-net goal to ensure the win.

Bruins 5, Canadiens 3. Final.
