Minnesota Wild Let Season Ticket Holders Paint Ice at End of Season

The Minnesota Wild lost a tough series against the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the NHL playoffs, but to thank the season ticket holders for their dedication all year, the team let them paint all over the ice.

The rink at Xcel Energy Center was covered with messages from fans by the end of the event, and the season ticket holders really seemed to enjoy it. A couple of fans left some pretty clever messages, with one fan calling out Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford and another blaming the stanchion for the series-ending goal scored by Patrick Kane.

This isn't the first time a hockey team has done this. The East Coast Hockey League's Stockton Thunder held a "Kids Take Over Stockton Arena Night" promotion where fans painted the ice as well.
