According to Rick Carpiniello of the Journal News , Rangers' defenseman Michael Del Zotto will join Team Canada and prospect Chris Kreider is officially a member of Team USA in this year’s World Championship tournament.

Kreider is a speedy foward out of Boston College with a talent for scoring. It is a little bit of a surprise to see him make this team. It is not only good news for Rangers' fans that he is good enough to make the team, but this should also give him pretty good experience to prepare him for the NHL.

Del Zotto was impressive in his rookie season with the Rangers although a little inconsistent. He came on strong in the beginning, cooled off toward the middle, and finished off strong. Overall he scored 37 points, nine goals and 28 assists, during the season. He was also -20. This is also a surprise, Del Zotto is very talented, but the Canadian team is deep. As with Kreider, this can only help him gain experience.
