Marian Gaborik Listed on Slovakian Roster

Apparently the laceration to the thigh that Marian Gaborik suffered last week in practice healed as planned, since Bob McKenzie of TSN is reporting on Twitter that the Rangers' leading scorer is listed on Team Slovakia's official Olympic Roster, which is due tomorrow at 10 am. Along with Gaborik on the roster was Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa, who was questionable heading into Vancouver after taking a big hit in an NHL game on Saturday. Both are expected to take part in the opening game for the Slovaks in the tourney.

This is definitely good news for Slovakian fans, being that they have had a pretty rough week watching their country get spanked by Team Canada in Women's Ice Hockey 18-0 on Sunday. Accompanied by Norris Trophy award winner Zdeno Chara, Gaborik and Hossa will have to play to the very best of their ability if this team wants to compete with the favored clubs in Russia and Canada.

More and more players are beginning to drop out of the Olympics due to injuries, including the Canadiens Andrei Kostitsyn. From a Rangers perspective, I am pretty sure all fans will have their fingers crossed that Gaborik doesn't go down with a significant injury in this tour ...
