Los Angeles Kings vs. Anaheim Ducks Game 1: Live Score and Highlights

May 3rd, 2014 by Steve Silverman Leave a reply »
Marian Gaborik had a night to remember. He scored the tying goal with seven seconds remaining and the winning goal in overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 victory in Game 1 of the Freeway Series.

The Kings, coming off a remarkable win over the San Jose Sharks in which they became the fourth team in NHL history to rebound from an 0-3 deficit to win a playoff series, were outplayed and outhit for large portions of the game by the Ducks.

However, Anze Kopitar had time and space as he passed the puck to Gaborik, and he sent the puck past Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller for the game-winner at the 12:07 mark of overtime.

The Kings lead the series 1-0, and the second game will be played at the Honda Center on Monday night.
