Logan Couture Injury: Updates on Sharks C’s Thigh and Return

San Jose Sharks center Logan Couture suffered a thigh injury during Wednesday's loss to the Edmonton Oilers that forced him to undergo a procedure Thursday to close an artery that caused bleeding.

No Timetable For Couture's Return To Lineup Friday, Dec. 11 Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area passed along an update on the forward's status from Sharks general manager Doug Wilson, who provided further details about the situation. He doesn't expect Couture to miss an extended period of time:



It's the latest setback in what's been a frustrating first half of the season for Couture.

He only recently returned to the lineup after missing nearly two months of action due to a fractured fibula, suffered during practice in October. As a result, he's been limited to just five games so far this season and has only two points—both assists.

Typically, he's an important cog in the Sharks' offensive attack. He tallied 27 goals and 40 assists while appearing in all 82 of the team's regular-season games last season. He has 290 career points in 384 contests.
