Lauri Korpikoski Signs Two-Year Deal with Coyotes to Remain in Phoenix

The Phoenix Coyotes and forward Lauri Korpikoski have avoided the arbitration process by agreeing to a two-year contract a couple of days ago. Due to the policy of the Phoenix Coyotes, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Korpikoski is 24 years old, 6'1" and weighs 200 pounds. He is a native of Finland. He started his career with the New York Rangers and was acquired by the Phoenix Coyotes in a trade in 2009.

Just to show how important he is as a player to the Coyotes, when he registered a point, the Coyotes were 21-6-3 last season. When he scored a goal, the Coyotes were 11-5-1. When he assisted in a goal, the Coyotes were 13-4-2.

Last season, Lauri Korpikoski was tied for second on the Coyotes in goals with 19 and was fifth on the team in scoring. During the 2010-11 season, he set new career highs in goals with 19, assists with 21, points with 40, game-winning goals with four and games played with 79.
