LA Kings Video: Watch Champs Celebrate Stanley Cup Win Before 2013 Season Opener

The raising of the banner marking the Los Angeles Kings' 2012 Stanley Cup victory may have been delayed a few months, but it didn't take anything away from the moment when it finally arrived. 

Before the Kings played their long-delayed season opener against the Chicago Blackhawks, they received their championship rings and, as you can see, raised the banner. 

The Kings players and fans had to have spent time wondering if this moment would ever arrive. The NHL was stuck on lockout status for 113 days as memories of the Kings' championship were pushed further back. 

After all, it was roughly seven months ago that the Kings made a surprising run through the playoffs and beat the New Jersey Devils in six games. 

Jonathan Quick, the reigning Conn Smythe winner, was at the center of the memorable run, and he was on the ice to celebrate the triumph and kick off their defense of the title in this abbreviated season.

The players and team staff were individually introduced to start off the ceremony and were presented with their rings. Also, some of the players skated around while showing off the Stanley Cup.
