It may have taken over four hours, but the fans in Los Angeles are going home happy after Alec Martinez's goal gave the Kings their second Stanley Cup in three years.


The defenseman scored the winner in the Kings' 3-2 double-overtime Game 5 late Friday night against the New York Rangers, thus bringing an end to the longest game in franchise history, per the team's official Twitter account:


This is the second time that Martinez won a series for Los Angeles this postseason. He scored the winner in the Kings' 5-4 Game 7 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference Final.
