Kimmo Timonen to Blackhawks: Latest Trade Details, Comments and Reaction

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Friday that they acquired veteran defenseman Kimmo Timonen from the Philadelphia Flyers for a second-round pick in the 2015 draft and a conditional fourth-rounder in 2016.

Timonen has yet to step on the ice this season after being hospitalized in August with blood clots in his right leg and both lungs.

Earlier on Friday, he spoke about how he's ready to make his return and targeted the Flyers' game against the New York Rangers on Saturday as his potential season debut.

"If they want me to play Saturday, I'm good to go," Timonen said, per ESPN.com. "Every day is better, and I have to start playing games somewhere down the road. If it's Saturday, that's good. If it's not Saturday, then it's next week."
