Ken’s Corner: Are the Dallas Stars Lions or Tame Kittens?

Much like the above photo, the Stars have taken parts of this season right on the jaw, and with little consistency to the team in sight, it seems likely they will continue to.

While their record over their last 10 games isn't too terrible, 4-3-3 isn't worth being proud of.

Over the course of the week, the Stars dropped from being second behind San Jose to being second to last, losing valuable points to Los Angeles, which they had no control of due to the schedule, and Phoenix, which they should have won a game against Saturday night.

The question becomes are the Stars the real deal, or are they a team that looks better than they truly are, destined to sit out of the playoffs again.

One stat worth recognizing is the goal differential. The Stars, over the course of 19 games, have scored 59 goals, while giving up 57. While I admit the stat can be deceiving, this isn't a usual issue the Stars have.

Currently sitting on the outside looking in of the playoffs, having given up points to Phoenix, the Coyotes and Stars are currently even on points.
