Jay Beagle Injury: Updates on Capitals Star’s Upper Body and Return

The Washington Capitals lost center Jay Beagle to an upper-body injury, and he will miss his second straight game with the injury on Sunday.

Beagle out vs. Boston Saturday, March 14 Alex Prewitt of The Washington Post reported that Beagle will be out against Boston on Sunday and noted that head coach Barry Trotz wasn't sure if he'd need to recall a forward from the minors. Prewitt also reported that Trotz said the center "shouldn't be [out] too long."

Beagle out vs. Dallas Thursday, March 12 Chuck Gormley of CSNWashington.com confirmed that Beagle will miss Washington's next game vs. Dallas with an upper-body injury.

It was noted after Wednesday's game that he didn't sustain a concussion and that Trotz hoped it was just a day-to-day injury, per Prewitt.

Beagle has 10 goals and 10 assists on the season and is an important part of the Capitals offensive attack. The team is battling for postseason position in the tight Eastern Conference and can ill-afford to lose him for an extended amount of time.
