Jaroslav Halak: Habs More Likely to Trade Halak Than Carey Price

According to Marc-Antoine Godin of La Presse , the Montreal Canadiens are more willing to move white-hot goaltender Jaroslav Halak in the offseason than 22-year-old Carey Price, because the Canadiens believe Price has better long-term value and Halak could net a larger return.

Anthony SanFilippo reported earlier this week that the Flyers are set on finding a young starting goalie capable of being the guy for years to come once the season comes to an end and suggested that Price could be Philadelphia's goaltending solution.

He reported after the Canadiens shutout the Flyers on Friday night 1-0 that he spoke with Godin about the situation, and Godin followed up by saying that he thinks the Habs are move likely to move the Slovakian netminder.

Godin pointed out that like the Flyers, Montreal has salary cap issues of their own and doesn't want to take a big money player in return.

If this is true, you can assume that the Canadiens will not move Price or Halak to the Flyers for one of their players with no-movement clauses such as Danny Briere, Simon Gagne, or Scott Hartnell.
