Jaromir Jagr’s NHL Return Rumor

Back during the Olympics, Jaromir Jagr made it known that now that his two-year contract in the Czech League is almost up he’s entertaining the idea of coming back to the NHL.

Could a return to the Rangers be a possibility? Probably not, at least I should hope not, but Glen Sather likes him and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that I haven’t agreed with all of the moves he’s made. So until Jagr has another team I wouldn’t completely rule him out.

One of the teams that might sign Jagr is the Edmonton Oilers. That’s because they employ two of Jagr’s former coaches who happen to think a lot of the winger, Tom Renney and his former Omsk coach Wayne Fleming. Ales Hemsky has also said that he would like to see Jagr join his squad and has already said that he would be willing to move to left wing to get him there.

Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal puts the chances for the Oilers to land Jagr at 60-40, but he notes that there could be a catch to signing Jagr:
