Jakub Voracek, Johnny Gaudreau Steal the Show at NHL All-Star Skills Competition

COLUMBUS, Ohio — It started with a tender, touching moment involving Ryan Johansen and Cole Vogt, the young son of Blue Jackets trainer Michael Vogt, during the breakaway challenge.

Johansen began his attempt before turning back, grabbing Cole, and taking him along for a ride that ended with Cole smacking the puck through the legs of Corey Crawford. Johansen even pushed Cole along for a glove-bump celebration with some of the NHL's greatest players.

Then things went from cute to funny.

Jakub Voracek was next to shoot, and he mimicked Johansen's move except for one important detail.

Voracek grabbed Johnny Gaudreau, who looks like he's eight years old, and guided him for a similar breakaway goal.

"I think that little kid was bigger than him," Voracek said.

The idea to have some fun at Voracek's expense wasn't his idea—Ryan Suter came up with it. What was Voracek planning to do before Suter's stroke of comedic genius?

"I was gonna put a Rick Nash jersey on," Voracek said.

And get booed?

"Oh, yeah. I switched it at the last second."
