It didn't come easy for the Washington Capitals, but Evgeny Kuznetsov scored the tie-breaking goal late in the third period to give Washington a 2-1 victory over the Islanders in the seventh game of the first-round playoff series.
The Capitals won the series 4-3, and will move forward to play the New York Rangers in the conference semifinal round.
