Is Dale Tallon Repeating Past Mistakes by Possibly Signing Antti Niemi?

Oh Dale Tallon, haven’t you infuriated the hockey world enough?

This is the slightest bit of all Tallon’s tragedy, but he started up again this week.

ESPN NHL Rumors has declared that Tallon is interested in signing Antti Niemi.

The Florida Panthers have numerous goalie options within the organization so why bother with Niemi?

The Panthers do have approximately $8.3 million left in cap space, which I would not anticipate Tallon to leave unoccupied.

Tallon signed a high-quality goalie prospect Jacob Markstrom to an entry-level deal.

Considering the other prospects in Panthers system, going for Niemi could indicate he is going back to his former ways from Chicago.

Recalling what Tallon did to the Chicago Blackhawks since 2005-2008 may worry some Panther fans, but his strategy did bring the Stanley Cup to Chicago, while leaving his own mess for Stan Bowman to clean up.

If he does go after Niemi, let the Florida Panther fan base pray he does it cheap, because last time he signed an NHL ready goalie, that particular goalie wound up being overpaid, and soon to be in the AHL (Cristo ...
