How Long Will the Colorado Avalanche’s Success Continue?

The Colorado Avalanche have undoubtedly had a great start to their 2011-12 season. After being shut out in their season opener against rival Detroit, the Avalanche have won the last three games, including a 1-0 win over the reigning champion Bruins and a commanding 7-1 win over former goalie Craig Anderson and the Ottawa Senators.

Even though it has only been four games, they are in first place in the Northwest Division and tied for the most points in the Western Conference. How much longer can this streak continue?

The next seven games will really show if Colorado will be a legitimate contender. They will finish their Canada road trip playing against the Montreal Canadiens and then the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Canadiens game is coach Joe Sacco's primary focus right now.

Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy played his career for both teams and it should be a great game. Montreal will be without two key players due to injury, Mike Cammalleri and Jaroslav Spacek.
