Hilary Duff and Former NHL Player Mike Comrie Separate

Former Disney star Hilary Duff and former NHL player Mike Comrie may do a better job than some famous couples at staying out of the tabloids, but they have made some news by ending their marriage after three years.

Per an Associated Press report, Duff’s representatives ensured in a statement that the two will remain friends and co-parent their son Luca, who will turn two in March.

The split was deemed amicable, and the breakup was absent of any discernible drama by Hollywood standards. In fact, they were seen together as recently as New Year’s Eve and even took young Luca to Disneyland recently.



Comrie was a productive NHL player before three hip operations in five years forced him to cut his career short. He scored at least 30 goals in two separate seasons and finished his career with 168 goals and 197 assists. He also posted four goals and six assists in 32 postseason games.

Comrie played for the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins throughout his time in the NHL.
