Heartbreaker: America’s Miracle Run Ends with Silver

In possibly the biggest event in the Winter Olympics there was a great story unfolding before the games began, and all the trash talk started that the American Olympic hockey team was viewed to fall early in the Olympics and having little to no shot even at the Bronze. But just like 30 years ago in Lake Placid, this American team would show heart and determination.

The long run started with a 3-1 win over Switzerland and a 6-1 domination over Norway. Then came the monster and host of the Olympics Canada, and now America was in a David vs. Goliath matchup. America was not supposed to stand a chance to the Canadians but America would not listen. Team USA would end up shocking Canada, the Olympics, and the entire world with a 5-3 win.

For America, they would be in a rematch with Switzerland and a chance at a No. 1 seed an odd place for America to be. Canada however was facing elimination against a tough Russian team. America did not score much but shutout and beat Switzerland again while Canada hammered Russia 7-1.
