Havlat Who? Marian Hossa Scary Good In Blackhawks’ Debut

Chicago Blackhawks fans have been waiting since July 1st for the debut of Marian Hossa. He did not disappoint the fan base, scoring two goals and leading the 'Hawks to a 7-2 rout of the San Jose Sharks.

Hossa looked great in his first game doing all the little things—back checking, killing penalties and of course chipping in the two goals to boot.

However, what was most impressive about Hossa's debut, in my opinion, was Hossa's ability with his stick. 

It was quite amazing.

I can think of several instances where Hossa used his stick to make wonderful plays.

The play I think sticks out in everyone's mind is when Hossa scored his shorthanded goal, in which Hossa would poke check the San Jose point man right to linemate Jonathan Toews, who would then spring Hossa to a breakaway goal.

This is the player that many 'Hawks fans envisioned they were getting when he was signed to his 12 year, $62.8 million deal this summer. At the time though, many didn't think he would have to miss the first two months of season.
