The Chicago Blackhawks are finally coming back to the United Center.
It's been two weeks since the Blackhawks last set foot on home ice—winning 2-1 in overtime over the Detroit Red Wings. In that time, they went 4-0-2 on their six-game road trip, contending with the best in the Western Conference.
Now they're back, looking to take on the No. 2 seed in the West, the Anaheim Ducks. For as good as the 'Hawks have been this season, the Ducks are right on their heels with an 8-2-1 record and 17 points—only five points and a game in hand behind the Blackhawks.
But there is more at stake in Tuesday night's game then just another two points.
The Blackhawks need to make a statement against the Ducks—they have to win in dominating fashion—after all, they are in front of their home fans.
This may also lead to a letdown. The first home game back in two weeks is bound to be in the back of every player's mind.
