The Detroit Red Wings are a team that has made the playoffs for the past 23 seasons, so they are rarely in a position in which they have to make a move at the trade deadline.

With the team enjoying one of its best seasons in years, general manager Ken Holland made a couple of moves to bolster his roster, and they should make Detroit tougher to play against. The Red Wings were already a top Eastern Conference team, but they are even stronger after the deadline.
