Gagne to Return to Lineup Against Rangers

December 18th, 2009 by Tom Dougherty Leave a reply »
Simon Gagne will return to action against the New York Rangers in Saturday’s matinee, which will be his first game since Oct. 25. To make room for Gagne, the Flyers have assigned Jon Kalinski to the Adirondack Phantoms.

Gagne has been on injured reserve after undergoing surgery to repair two hernias.

In nine games this season, Gagne has one goal and four assists. He had a very sluggish start to the year before the injury.

The 29-year-old will hopefully provide a boost to the slumping Flyers, who will need his goal scoring to save some guys’ jobs. Blair Betts came back from his injury last night, now Gagne returns.

Next up for the walking wounded, Darroll Powe, who’s expected to return sometime before the new year.
