The Philadelphia Flyers have found a short-term fix for their goaltender situation, claiming goalie Michael Leighton off re-entry waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes, Tuesday.

Leighton has appeared in seven games for the 'Canes this year, posting a 4.28 goals-against average, a record of 1-4-0, and a .848 save percentage.

He allowed six goals against the Flyers on Oct. 31 in Carolina's 6-1 loss to Philadelphia.

This will be Leighton's second stint with the Orange 'n Black as he played four games with the Flyers in the 2006-07 season when Robert Esche was injured. He was 2-2-0 with a 3.70 GAA with Philadelphia before being waived.

Leighton will backup Brian Boucher for the time being while Ray Emery recovers from surgery.
