Finally Some Respect: Hurricanes to Host All-Star Game in 2011

In what is considered one of the greatest days in hockey history in the state of North Carolina, on April 8, 2010 Gary Bettman will announce that the 2011 NHL All-Star game will be at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC.

Constantly, hockey fans discuss and argue that hockey does not belong in the South, but the Hurricanes have been a consistent team with a strong fanbase.

April 8, 2010 will go down in history as one of the days in Hurricanes history that people will remember. Already people remember so much out of the young 12 year destiny of the Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes in 12 years have done more than some teams have done in 30 years. In the last 12 years they have been to two Stanley Cups (Anaheim, Detroit, New Jersey and Pittsburgh have as well), they have won the Stanley Cup, won three divisional championships, two conference championships, and renewed a hockey love in the southeast not seen anywhere else.
