The NHL is not a static league.
No matter how good a team feels about its roster, there is going to be turnover from one year to the next. Whether it's due to the draft, free agency, injuries, retirement or trades, every team brings in one or more new players every year.
Here's a look at each team's top breakout candidate for the 2013-14 season. In many cases, these are rookies or young players who are getting opportunities to succeed. But in other cases, they are players who are finding their game a bit later in their careers.
