ESPN Radio Commits to More Washington Capitals Coverage

Washington Capitals fans have long felt that they have been left in the cold when it comes to their team being covered by local sports media.  It seems that you can open a paper in the Washington D.C/Maryland area and find a story on every team in the area on any given day, with the exception of the Caps.

Local radio station ESPN 980 is looking to change that.

Recently, Chuck Sapienza, the Director of Programming for the station, sent an open letter to the fans of the Caps detailing how the station intends to rectify this situation.

Sapienza’s letter:

“Caps Nation,

My name is Chuck Sapienza and I am the new Director of Programming for ESPN980. When I took over this position in late August, one thing became evidently clear: my station has a credibility problem with you, the fans of the Washington Capitals.
