Detroit Red Wings Report Card: Grading the Team at the Halfway Mark

January 8th, 2011 by Chris Minniti Leave a reply »
As Detroit ended the first half of their season with a 5-4 shootout victory in Calgary, it was time to write up a report card on how the team has fared thus far.

After a an off year last year, Detroit is right back where they should be and that is dominating the Western Conference.

After 41 games last year, Detroit was 21-14-6 for 48 points but find themselves at 26-10-5 for 57 points this year.

The report card is broken down into positions (as determined on DetroitRedWings.com) and grades are given a total grade and then each player is given an individual grade.

As the Wings perch themselves on top of the Central Division this year, after a one year hiatus last year, and battle with the Vancouver Canucks for the best record in the Western Conference, the second half of the season should be an exciting one.
