Detroit Red Wings Prospects We Will Get To See at the WJHC

The World Junior Hockey Championships are just around the corner and are slated to be held in Buffalo.

Personally, I am not sure how big the WJHC is in the United States but I am pretty sure that after last year's dramatic overtime win over the tournament's heavy favorite, Canada, a lot of Americans are looking forward to a possible repeat.

In Canada, the WJHC is looked upon as religiously as the Olympics are.

But as much as it is fun watching your country take on the rest of the world, it's especially fun to watch the prospects for your team and how they play on Junior Hockey's grandest stage.

The Detroit Red Wings and their fans have a reason to catch this edition's of the WJHC aside for national pride.

There are five Red Wings prospects taking place at the tournament from four different countries:

Andrej Nestrasil (CZE), Calle Jarnkrok (SWE), Adam Almqvist (SWE), Teemu Pulkkinen (FIN) and Mitch Callahan (USA).

Riley Sheahan was currently cut from Canada's roster.
