Detroit Red Wings: Open Up Three Game Home Swing Tonight After Successful Trip

Home, sweet home.

Joe Louis Arena is back to being the place where no NHL team, besides the Red Wings, wants to play.

After a very successful west coast swing, the Wings are back to their stomping ground.

Detroit opened the road trip in San Jose, the first time the team was back at the HP Pavilion since being ousted by the Sharks in five games last May, and they kicked off the trip in California with a bang.

Henrik Zetterberg, who had been silent offensively the previous three games, broke out of his slump by tallying four points (two goals, two assists)

Pavel Datsyuk, Detroit's leading scorer, added three points (a goal and two assists).

Detroit went on to win the game, 5-3. 

On Friday, Detroit played in Anaheim.

In a game that featured the Red Wings being outshot heavily, Detroit came out the victors on the back of four goals, scored by Dan Cleary, Tomas Holmstrom, Valtteri Filppula and Johan Franzen, and a shut out by Jimmy Howard, his second of the season.

Saturday's game had a visibly tired Detroit team going for the west coast sweep.
