After three games, the Detroit Red Wings find themselves with the record of 2-0-1.

The two wins were recorded in back-to-back fashion, with the first win being from a dominating season, and home, opening win 4-0 against the Anaheim Ducks.

The second win came in a tight 3-2 game versus the defending Stanley Cup-champion Chicago Blackhawks.

Yesterday, Detroit suffered their first loss of the season last night to the Colorado Avalanche at home by a 5-4 score in a shootout.

The Red Wings didn't play their usual dominant style yesterday.

Defensive turnovers.

Sloppy play by the third line (all three players had a minus-three each).

After all three games, the one main bright spot for the team has been the play of the second scoring unit of Johan Franzen, Valterri Filppula and Todd Bertuzzi.

Detroit's first line of Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Holmstrom haven't looked as dominant as many would have expected, so the second line has stepped up.
