Detroit Red Wings: After 53 Games, Are We Finally Seeing the Old Jiri Hudler?

It took a while, but Jiri Hudler seems to be back to normal.

After a slow start, for lack of a better term, Hudler seems to be getting back to the Hudler that left the Wings for more money a couple years ago.

After registering only six points in his first 30 games, Hudler has now produced 14 points in his past 18 games.

Because of Hudler's slow start, he is on pace for eight goals and 24 assists for 32 points.

Though the numbers have gotten better, it is still a far cry from his 70 to 75-point potential and his 23 goals and 34 assists for 57 points in his last full season with the Red Wings in 2008-09.

In the game against the New York Rangers, Hudler scored a goal and added an assist.

One reason as to why he had such success in that game—none other than Pavel Datsyuk.

Hudler was quoted after the game saying, "I've played with everybody in this room and to play with Datsyuk, it's really great."

Having Hudler finally find his game has been great for the Red Wings, especially with the lineup getting healthier and the team trying to right the wrongs getting closer to playoff time. ...
