Detroit Red Wings: 8 Offseason Deals That Make Sense for the Detroit Red Wings

The season is almost at an end, and like the last 19 seasons in Detroit, the Red Wings are gearing up for a long playoff run.

For 20 straight years, the Detroit Red Wings have been a fixture in the NHL's Western Conference playoff picture.

This upcoming offseason, GM Ken Holland and his trusted assistant Jim Nill, will be looking to fill holes left over by soon-to-be free agents.

Because of that, for me to do this article, imagine that some Red Wings decide to retire.

Those being Nicklas LIdstrom, Mike Modano, Kris Draper and Chris Osgood.

Aside from those possible retirees, the Wings are also without the services of Drew Miller, Patrick Eaves, Joey MacDonald, Ruslan Salei and Jonathan Ericsson due to their contracts expiring.

That leaves Detroit with a 15 roster spots covered with nine left up for grabs with just $12,591,288 left to spend, but that number could rise if the cap ceiling rises itself.

So with this situation I put forth, these are the eight moves that make sense for the Red Wings this offseason.
