Deal in Place for Bobby Ryan To Remain a Duck For $27.5 Million, But Is On Delay

You won't be seeing Bobby Ryan in trade rumors anytime soon.

According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, via Twitter, RFA winger Bobby Ryan has re-signed with the Anaheim Ducks for a total of $27.5 million over five years.

It was believed that Ryan wanted a two or three-year contract and that the money wasn't the problem. Ducks management had pretty much confirmed that they offered him $5 million per year and that they wanted to give him a five-year contract.

It seems that negotiations went well for both sides, as the Ducks got the length that they wanted and Bobby Ryan is making $500,000 more a year. 

Expect Bobby Ryan to really come into his own this season, as 40-plus goals isn't out of the question

The deal has been delayed according to Bob McKenzie of TSN. However, it should be valid soon:

"It may be just semantics but I am being told there is, at this moment, no deal in place between Bobby Ryan and the Anaheim Ducks."
