David Krejci Injury: Updates on Bruins Star’s Recovery from Hip Surgery

Boston Bruins star forward David Krejci will undergo surgery to repair a hip injury that bothered him during the 2015-16 season.

Krejci to Undergo Surgery Monday, April 11 Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe had the details on Krejci's status, as the 29-year-old will be on the shelf during the offseason with the hip problem.

He suffered a partially torn MCL last season and was limited to 47 games. He also dealt with a major injury in the 2010 playoffs when he dislocated his right wrist. Per the team, Krejci's hip has bothered him for the past "20 or so games" and is "related to what he went through last season."

Despite those ailments, Boston felt fine about investing in Krejci with a six-year contract extension prior to last season. The center has rewarded the Bruins' faith thus far, scoring 63 points (17 goals, 46 assists) during the regular season. 

As such a key contributor to Boston's 2011 Stanley Cup run, his combination of past production, experience and leadership can't be replaced.
