Only four games grace the NHL slate on a relatively quiet Sunday, which means deeper digging to uncover the best matchup plays in the daily fantasy world.
There may be fewer teams to choose from Sunday, but a number of high-profile matchups and top scorers in action means no shortage of favorable fantasy options. Here's a DraftKings primer for Sunday's NHL slate.
Centers: David Backes ($6,700) and Henrik Sedin ($3,800)
The St. Louis Blues are one of the teams to target, and David Backes is one of their leading scorers. Coming off a Saturday loss on a short turnaround typically spells doom, but St. Louis has won on Sunday in two of three occasions this season, and will continue that against a Detroit Red Wings team that has lost four of five.
Backes has been dealing with fire in his last 10 games with five goals and six assists, and he figures to be on the score sheet often on Sunday.
