Conn Smythe Trophy: Odds on the Top 5 NHL Playoff MVP Candidates

The odds of the NJ Devils coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the Stanley Cup Finals are very slim. How slim, you ask? Well, only one team has worked their way back from that deficit to claim the Cup, the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs. The other 23 teams that fell behind 3-0 have all fallen by the wayside, watching as their opposition laid claim to the title of Stanley Cup Champions.

History has not only said that the Kings will be the 2012 Cup Champions, but that they will claim the Cup in a sweep, as 20 of the 24 teams that had a 3-0 lead have done before them.

With that in mind, it's a good time to look at the odds on the players who are in the running for the Conn Smythe Trophy. The Conn Smythe is awarded to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team throughout the entirety of the NHL Playoffs.
