Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer provides an update on Claude Giroux's injury:

Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux is expected to miss around two weeks of action after suffering a lower-body injury on the first day of on-ice work at training camp.

The team announced his status on its official site. The report notes that he was forced to leave the ice after only about 15 minutes of work due to the injury. The exact ailment wasn't made available, but the Flyers confirmed it wasn't lingering from over the offseason.

Also included were comments from general manager Ron Hextall, who suggested the extra energy on Day 1 of camp played a role.

"This just happened today. It's the first day of camp and guys go 100 miles per hour and things happen," he said. "Obviously it's not the way you want to start. That's the hand we were dealt and we're going to deal with it."
