Los Angeles Kings, 4, Chicago Blackhawks 3, FINAL
The Los Angeles Kings overcame a 2-1 first period deficit and beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3. The Kings now lead the series 2-1.
Jeff Carter had a goal and two assists while Drew Doughty had a goal and an assist to lead the Kings' attack.
Jonathan Toews scored twice in the first period to give Chicago the early lead. The first goal was shorthanded but Slava Voynov answered with a power play goal for the Kings just 50 seconds later. Then Toews worked his magic again to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead after the first period.
The Kings got second period goals by Carter and Tyler Toffoli to take a 3-2 lead.
In the third period, the Kings dominated, outshooting Chicago 18-7. Doughty's goal midway through the period made it 4-2 Los Angeles. A goal by Patrick Sharp in the final seconds pulled the Blackhawks to within one goal, but it was too little, too late.
Game 4 of the series will be Monday night in Los Angeles at 9 pm ET.
